This is my hand-sewing basket. I made the strip in the bottom of the photo, the top is the basket I put everything in, and the middle are the supplies. I am working on a lap quilt. My Grandma gave me the basket, and showed me how to sew! In this picture, I have my pins, my pin cushion (to hold needles), both my strong ripper and delicate ripper, cutter, scissors, thread, thimble, and measuring tape. It’s very fun to hand-sew, but sometimes it gets a little frustrating. For one thing, it takes a very long time. It probably took me about two weeks just to make that small strip. Ellie (my older sister) has a rag doll, and I sewed her a shawl (well, cut her a shawl!) Hopefully, my lap quilt will be done by the time summer comes! I’m not sure that it will, but if I keep working on it, I think it might be!
